A state-of-the-art engine center is created

  • June 2015: GE Aviation and Lufthansa Technik sign a memorandum of understanding regarding the construction of a new, state-of-the-art engine overhaul facility for GE engines at the Paris Air Show.
  • December 2016: Official announcement of the joint venture company XEOS and its location in Southwestern Poland.
  • January/February 2017: The first new employees are hired and embark on their over one-year long training program.
  • July 2017: The first symbolic sod is turned for the new facility in the Legnica Special Economic Zone in Środa Śląska.
  • August 2017: Start of construction. It will take around one and a half year to build the new facility.
  • September 2017: The Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony for XEOS Center connected with closing the symbolic time capsule with a mesage for future generations of XEOS employees.
  • Beginning of 2019: Scheduled start of operations – the first GEnX engines are overhauled at XEOS.
